1. Introduction

Welcome to deen.page ("we," "us," or "our"). deen.page gives Muslims one page for their work, operated by Wahab Shaikh. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at deen.page.

By using our platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you sign in or add content, we may collect the following information:

  • Creator profile data: name, avatar, country, GitHub URL, personal website URL, and support link.
  • Project data: title, description, URL, favicon, GitHub repository URL, and app store links (App Store, Play Store, Chrome Web Store).
  • Account data: account linkage and your public page.

2.2 Information Collected via Authentication

We use Google, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn OAuth (via Better Auth) to authenticate users. When you sign in, we receive your account email, name, and profile image from that provider. We do not store your password.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

  • Session data: we use session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use cookie caching for session data.
  • Analytics data: we use Datafast for privacy-friendly, anonymized website analytics. Datafast does not use cookies and does not collect personal data.
  • Creator page analytics: when someone visits a public creator profile (deen.page/username) or clicks a link on that page, we record an anonymized event so the creator can see basic stats in their dashboard. This includes page views, link clicks, approximate location (country/city from the hosting network when available), device type, browser, operating system, referrer hostname, and whether the visitor appears to be a bot or AI crawler/assistant (via user-agent parsing). We store a hashed visitor fingerprint (not a cookie) to estimate unique visitors. Creators viewing their own page while signed in are not counted.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Display your creator profile and projects in the public directory.
  • Show creators basic analytics for their public profile (views, clicks, devices, locations, and bot/AI crawler activity).
  • Generate Open Graph images for sharing on X (Twitter) and other platforms.
  • Enable search and discovery of creators and projects.
  • Authenticate users and verify creator profile ownership through Google OAuth.
  • Show your public page at its address.
  • Maintain and improve the platform.

4. Public Visibility of Data

deen.page is a public directory. By its nature, the following data is publicly visible to anyone who visits the site:

  • Creator profiles (name, avatar, country, support link, GitHub URL, and website URL).
  • Project listings (title, description, URL, favicon, and store/repository links).
  • Your public page at its address. Directory listings are a separate submission.

Please only provide information you are comfortable making public.

5. Newsletter Signups

Creators can add a newsletter block to their page. If you enter your email address there, here is exactly what happens to it:

  • We store your address and the date you entered it, so the creator can contact you and can answer questions about when it was collected.
  • We store a one-way hash of your IP address as a spam guard. It is never stored in a form we can reverse, and it is never included in anything a creator can export.
  • The address is held on the creator’s behalf and can be exported by that creator. It is never shown publicly, never sold, and never shared with anyone else.
  • deen.page never emails you. We have no ability to send mail, which also means there is no confirmation step: a signup takes effect immediately.

You can remove your address from every newsletter list on deen.page at any time, without an account, at deen.page/unsubscribe. That removes it from our records immediately. If a creator has already exported your address, we cannot reach their copy, so contact that creator directly as well.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a Neon Postgres database. The platform is hosted on Vercel. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth: for authentication.
  • Vercel: for hosting and serverless functions.
  • Neon: for Postgres database hosting.
  • Datafast: for privacy-friendly website analytics.

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing the data they process. We encourage you to review their respective policies.

8. Cookies

We use essential session cookies to keep you signed in after authentication. These cookies are strictly necessary for the functioning of the platform and cannot be opted out of while using authenticated features.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our site-wide analytics provider (Datafast) is cookieless. Creator page analytics also do not require cookies; unique visitors are estimated with a hashed fingerprint derived from request metadata.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Edit your creator profile and project information (available to verified creators through the platform).
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time by contacting us.

To exercise any of these rights, please reach out to us via email at contact@deen.page.

10. Children's Privacy

deen.page is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
