Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

deen.page (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the professional network for the Muslim economy, operated by Wahab Shaikh. This policy explains what we collect when you use deen.page, how we use it, and your choices. By using deen.page you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Information we collect

Account data. Your email address and name. You sign in with a link we email you. We do not store a password unless you choose to set one, and then only as a one-way hash. If you signed in to the previous version of deen.page with Google, X or LinkedIn, your account and pages were carried over by email address.

Page data. What you put on a page: name, handle, location, bio, photo, links, questions you invite people to ask, experience or people, and projects.

Connections and messages. Connection requests, follows, and the messages you send and receive between pages, so the people in a conversation can read it.

Vouches and lists. When you vouch for something on someone’s page, we store your vouch, the note you add and your page’s name with it. When you curate a list, we store its title, description, entries and notes, and who follows it.

Page analytics. When someone views a page or clicks a link on it, we add one to that page’s counters for the day: views, link clicks, clicks per link, and a broad source (for example search, social or direct). We do not store the visitor’s IP address, a fingerprint or a cookie for this, and requests from known bots are not counted.

Site analytics. We use Datafast for privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics, including a count of visits from AI crawlers and assistants.

Support chat. If you open the chat widget, Crisp processes what you send us there.

3. How we use it

• To show your page, projects, jobs and events publicly.
• To let you sign in, edit your pages, connect and send messages.
• To email you sign-in links, and notices about connection requests and messages.
• To show you your own page’s analytics.
• To make pages findable in Explore, in search engines and in AI assistants.
• To take payment if you buy something from us.
• To keep the site running, secure and improving.

4. What is public

deen.page is a public directory. Everything on a page, every vouch (with the name of the person who gave it) and every list is visible to anyone, including search engines and AI assistants, and is published in machine-readable forms such as Markdown copies, feeds and our sitemap. Your email address, your messages and your page analytics are never public. Please only add what you are happy to make public.

5. Storage and security

deen.page runs on Cloudflare Workers. Data is stored in Cloudflare D1 and photos in Cloudflare R2. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Service providers

• Cloudflare: hosting, database and file storage.
• Resend: sending email.
• Polar: payments, if you buy something from us.
• Datafast: cookieless site analytics.
• Crisp: the support chat widget.

Each provider has its own privacy policy for the data it processes on our behalf.

7. Cookies

We use essential session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our site analytics are cookieless.

8. Your rights

You can edit your pages at any time, and hide any vouch on your page from the editor. You can delete a page, or your whole account and every page it owns, yourself from the page editor; it takes effect straight away. You can also ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or to delete it, by emailing contact@deen.page.

9. Children

deen.page is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
